Signposting
Signposting is undertaken by our Patient Care Advisors. When you call the surgery, you will be asked to give brief details what your call is regarding. This means that instead of automatically being given an appointment with a GP, you will be advised if there is a suitable alternative that may be a better option for you.

Our team has a directory that they work from that has been developed by our clinical team. This is included for your information to give you a guide on who it is likely that you will need to see or be signposted to.

Pharmacy First Patient Information
Pharmacy First is a service provided by all local pharmacies where they can provide treatments free of charge for common minor ailments. For more information, please click on the link below.

Pharmacy First Plus
This is a service that is different from Pharmacy First / Minor Ailments that offers patients assessment either face-to-face, via telephone or video for the following conditions in the event that your usual pharmacist is unable to deal with these:
- Urinary tract infections
- Respiratory tract infections
- Ear, nose and throat problems / infections
- Skin complaints
- Allergies including hayfever
- Eye infections (in conjunction with local optician services)
- This list is not exhaustive.

Local pharmacies who have this service available are as follows:
- Alberta Rowlands Pharmacy: Provides both Pharmacy First and Pharmacy First Plus services.
- Boots Chemist Ltd (The Plaza, East Kilbride): Provides both Pharmacy First and Pharmacy First Plus service.
- Murray Pharmacy: Provides both Pharmacy First and Pharmacy First Plus services.
- Kyle Square Pharmacy (Rutherglen): Offers the Pharmacy First Plus.
- Pharmacies in Lanarkshire:
Please note there may be times that the pharmacist who runs the service is on annual leave. Therefore, no service would be available on those days.
