Our FAQs
Some of our most frequently asked questions:
How do I know if I should see a GP?
If your symptoms are worrying, not improving after a few days, or interfering with daily life, it’s a good idea to book an appointment. Trust your instincts—if something feels off, get it checked.
Can I treat my illness at home?
Many minor illnesses (like colds, mild sore throats, or small injuries) can be managed with rest, fluids, and over-the-counter medication. If symptoms get worse or last longer than expected, contact us.
How do I register with the practice?
To register the practice you should complete our registration form. This is attached below if you wish to print this out and complete or there are copies available at our reception. You will need to provide 2 forms of identification – one with your photograph and another with proof of your address. The registration process tends to take 1 week, please ensure you have enough medications from your previous practice to cover this period.
How do I make an appointment?
To book an appointment, please visit our Contact Us page where you’ll find our phone number and contact details. Our team will be happy to help you arrange a suitable appointment.
Get medical attention when you're closed?
Out of hours cover is now the responsibility of NHS GG&C – NHS 24. If you require urgent medical attention that cannot wait until the surgery re-opens please contact NHS 24 on 111 or visit their website at www.nhs24.com
They will either:
Arrange advice from a doctor or nurse.
Invite you to attend the centre to be seen by a clinician.
Arrange a home visit if you are too ill to attend the centre.
Where can I get my blood and X-Ray results?

What services do you offer?
Please visit our Practice services page where you’ll find more information on this subject.
How long should a cold or flu last?
Colds usually improve within 7–10 days. Flu can last up to 2 weeks. If symptoms are severe, not improving, or include breathing difficulty, seek medical advice.
Do I need antibiotics?
Antibiotics only work for bacterial infections, not viruses like colds or flu. A GP can assess whether they’re necessary.
Can I get advice without an appointment?
Yes – our reception team is here to help guide you. Please provide as much accurate information as you can so our admin team can direct you to the most appropriate service.
What should I do if I run out of medication?
Contact us or your pharmacy as soon as possible. In urgent cases, pharmacists can sometimes provide an emergency supply
